Well, it certainly has been some time since we got such a meaty amount of information to go through. Today (Jan 30th) we got a live letter from Yoshi P detailing whats to come in the next installment, which is due to be released on Feb 23. I will compose a easy-to-read list of whats to come down below. As usual, please feel free to comment on what excites you, what you are looking forward to, or whatever pops into your mind as you give it a looksie.

As usual, when more information trickles in I will update accordingly!

First lets start with the upcoming practice dummies and what they mean!

Stone, Sky, Sea (Dummy Trial)

Three minute battle challenge against striking dummies.

Multiple challenge levels available

  • Designed for people looking to tackle different levels of content
  • Solo only


Different Challenge for every jobs

  • Tank/DPS have different checks
  • Healing Summy aren’t 100% confirmed

Whats this? Tanks not stacking strength gear anymore? Outrageous! Blasphemous! Scandalous!

Tank Damage Calculation Changes (Implemented in Patch  3.2)

  • VIT/STR will both increase physical attack strength of tanks
  • STRs impact will be reduced

 Job Adjustments

Paladin

  • Changes to Oaths
  • Not fully finished but changes will be presented in Patch Notes

There will also be adjustments to Astrologian and their means of drawing cards.

Enmity generation will also be adjusted for Astrologian

Machinist will also be getting adjustments to help their sustained DPS

Limit Break adjustments: rate at which it will fill.>__<!

New RAID

  • Alexander Midas+ Savage will be implemented at the same time
  • Drop system will work the same in Midas normal mode as it did in Gordias normal
  • Midas Savage will function the same way with loot as Gordias Savage.
  • Two fausts at the entrance!


Beast Tribe Dailies

  • Similar to Vanu Vanu w/ dynamic quest sync
  • Increasing the experience rewards from daily quests
  • Mount is a giant bug/insect.

THE FEAST (it’s PVP)

 Required Level is 60

ilvl sync is 150

4v4 is 1 tank, 1 melee, 1 ranged, 1 healer

8v8 is 2 tank, 2 melee, 2 ranged, 2 healer

Can only use these party compositions

Redescribes the modes from last live letter

Certain queues will have a rating system. When you win, the rating will goes up. If you lose, it goes down.

        Solo Queue and Light Party Raiting

 To win, you must steal as many medals as possible. The team to to reach a certain medal count is the winner.

Everyone starts with 100 medals and when you kill an opponent the medals will fall on the ground and can be picked up.

  • This means killing the same play over and over again will yield less and less medals
  • An icon over the enemy’s head will designate how many medals can be picked up off their corpse. There are three different values you may see.

 New PvP Elements

        Adrenaline Rush

        Supply boxes

  • Items on the field that can help the team grab them
  • Different Kits with different effects
  • Offensive /Defensive/Medical/Adrenaline

        Culling time

  • A certain time during the match
  • During this time, debuffs will be placed on people and will make players weaker and weaker until they are killed and debuffs are reset.

        Heavy Medal

  • Increased dmg taken if you are marked with it.
  • You are marked with this debuff is the same player is picking up too many medals.
  • The debuff grows stronger the more medals the player has.
  • Need to spread out who is collecting medals.

 KDA will be displayed at the end of the match

 Tiers

  • Six Tiers of rank based on PvP rating
  • When jumping a tier, one must win qualifiers.
  • Similar to League of Legends current ranked system
  • Bronze/Silver/Gold/Platinum/Diamond 

Materia Changes

  • Main stat materia will only function in the non-forbidden melded slots.
  • Melding will be added to new types of equipment, such as raid gear.
  • Grade 4 and 5 materia will have its availability increased. (Better get materia though!


Orchestrion

 

  • Furnishing that can change the BGM of the inside of houses.
  •  

  • Sheet music can be obtained from dungeons, primals, vendors and will have more added in patches.

  • Preview shown on screen.

  • The music itself comes from the Orchestrion so it will be louder if you are closer to it.

  • May see if they can make speakers a furnishing so you can make things like party rooms.

  • User Interface gives you the ability to preview music before selecting it and how to obtain the music sheet.

  • Sheets must be crafted with materials in some cases obtained from Primals/Trials.

  • Decent drop rates.

  • Collections are individual, so some people may have music others do not.

 

Mentor System

  • A way for veterans to help and support beginners.

  • Can become a mentor after doing certain achievements.

  • Mentors can exist for combat,crafting, gathering.

  • Mentor for Disciple of War of Magic

    • 1 Level 60 Disciple of War/Magic from all 3 roles

    • 1000 dungeons or trials

    • 300 or more commendations

  • Mentor for Disciples of Hand and Land

    • 1 Level 60 Discple of Hand and Land

    • Crafted over 100 collectibles and Gather over 300 collectibles.

  • New Chat channel for mentors and beginners.

    • Designed specifically for these two types of players to access chat.

    • It is possible to invite new people to the channel

    • There will be a Mentor roulette as well to match you with mentors.

      • No tomestone rewards

      • Achievements and glamour from this roulette.

    • Everything except for raids will be in roulette.

 

Primal

  • Containment Bay S1T7 + Extreme

  • Sephirot, The Fiend

  • Preview shown on screen.

  • This is not part of the main story. Side story

    • It is not a side story. The normal difficulty primal will be a part of the main quest scenario.

    • The normal version of the primal is not an requirement to unlock the extreme version. (Sorry for the mistranslation.)

  • Sephirot Weapons shown

  • New Alexander gear was shown as well.

 

Diadem Changes

  • Time Limit

    • will be reduced based on difficulty.

      • Easy = 30 minutes

      • Normal = 45 minutes

      • Hard = 60 minutes

    • 30 minute minimum before re-entering after entering prior down from 45 minutes.

  • Aether Current Changes

    • Easy = 1 current

    • Normal = 2 currents

      • Hard = 3 currents

    • Tomestone rewards will be adjusted as well.

    • Bonus will be granted to the group that spawns an enemy from Fresh Tracks

    • Filter feature will be added to the UI when delivering items to the spoil vendor.

      • To prevent giving him equipped gear

    • The # of materia rewarded when handing in spoils will be adjusted.

 

Adjustments to Crafter/Gatherer

  • New Recipes

    • New gear that can be used to challenge raids early.

  • Materials isn’t as hard to obtain as in prior patch.

  • High Allagan crafted gear that can be dyed.

    • New items for this will drop in the old coils.

  • Other new recipes

  • New items will be able to be bought with red scrips 2 days after 3.2.

 

Tomestones

  • Allagan tomestones of Lore/Folklore

  • Soldiery remove entirely. Law will be made unavailable, Esos uncapped, Lore new capped tomestone.

  • Law can be turned into esoterics.

 

QoL

  • Sword/Shield will always drop at the same time from now on

  • Gatherers and still gather when participation window appears.

  • All roulettes will be possible to enter with a party.

  • Except for mentor roulette.

  • Teleport history tab will be added for quick access to recent aetherytes.

  • New features for idle and group cameras will be added.

  • Hotbar improvements

    • recast animation improved.

    • Setting to display recast time on the hotbar icons finally.

  • Furnishing with aesthetician access

  • Furnishing dye preview

  • Feature for selling items from retainers.

  • Other adjustments in UI

  • Tomestone gear shown off.

  • New furnishings shown off.

Minfila and Etc

  • What kind of destiny awaits after changes?

  • Doesn’t just apply to Minfilia. Other situations will change as well.

  • Some screenshots shown from 3.2.

  • Antitower is a Sharlayan structure

  • Localization teams work on localizing the game for the language they are designated (English, french, german etc)

Looking forward to the mentor thing, though I still think they need to add something more to the diadem to allow it to last. I think the lack of randomization makes it seem very same-y sometimes, but it is tolerable when you're with folk you're used to.

Also looking forward to the new PVP. Having set compositions will help with balancing, as to avoid having 192871 ASTs in a team or 19827901721 SMNs in a team.

Have to admit, I'm a little disappointed at was confirmed. New primal that looks like a cross between Ravana and Titan (unless it's meant to) and to name it "Sephirot" errrrr really? No new dungeon either which was a shame? PvP I really can't get into in this game because of the queue times are rediculous (unless you have a static ofc) and a mentor system I can see being of benefit to some new players which is a good thing I guess. I struggle to get into the whole Diadem thing too, it just seems like one mad monster mash to enjoy it. A big Meh from me I'm afraid.

Yeah they are going to add two new dungeons. One is from the main story and I think the second was the Lost City Hard mode. For the primal, I mean it would be interesting to see how the mechanics will be handle. Not to mention the new Alex both normal and Savage on the same day. So this is where all the people are going to do. "Oh lets forget the rest of the content and focus on Alex and then be bored lmao. I am hoping they add more after 3.2, but overrall I am looking forward to the new Lore tombstone.
